It is quite a flat area, so is very popular with people who love sports. You will see a lot of joggers and cyclists enjoying the sunshine along the seafront. Matagorda is a quieter resort than the nearby Puerto del Carmen. But you can have the best of both worlds as it is only a 10-minute taxi ride away. It’s also worth mentioning the popular marina at Puerto Calero, which is worth exploring. You can either take the taxi boat from the Old Town in Puerto del Carmen or it is a short drive away. Activities on the island include a water park (Costa Teguise), whale museum (Puerto Calero), horse riding (Macher), spas and wellness centres, shopping, bike hire, sports centres, tennis, go-karting, mini golf, diving, golf, island excursions, deep sea fishing, boat trips, and a theme park.
